Short nails with a premium feel: soft square and micro-French
Short nails demand especially precise shaping: natural proportions, colour and decoration must come together harmoniously in a small space. When they do, the result feels fresh and intentional.
Why does soft square work so well?
A softly rounded square keeps clean, modern lines without leaving sharply projecting corners. It is comfortable in everyday life and can create a neat look on wider nail plates.
The shape is at its best when the sidewalls appear parallel and the free edge stays slim. Too much rounding becomes oval; very sharp corners are more likely to catch.
Micro-French visually lengthens the nail
A very fine French line leaves more of the natural or nude base visible, making the nail appear longer and lighter. Besides crisp white, ivory, chocolate, burgundy or delicate gold can also look elegant.
Every millimetre matters on a short nail. The curve should follow the proportions of the nail plate and smile line rather than a fixed template.
